Working together.
When designing a garden our approach is very hands-on. The first step is to understand our clients desired use of the space, lifestyle and personal style. It is our goal to find ways to fulfill their vision with a garden that is environmentally responsible yet artful. Plans are drawn by hand. All of the plants are selected by us based on the quality and health of the flora. On site we are there with our skilled and thoughtful team of contractors directing the placement of plants, following the process of the hardscape materials and actively participating in each step. While we work according to the original design we often make adjustments in response to the physical space to ensure that the garden is transformed with attention to detail. Being more involved in all of these steps vs handing off a design to a contractor prioritizes the flow of communication and allows our designs to be executed to their fullest potential.
Our projects range from starting from scratch to giving an existing garden a little love. Whenever possible we repurpose materials, save healthy / drought friendly plants, and cut down on waste as much as possible. Gardens with doggos and / or children as residents are some of our favorites. We welcome the chaos and challenge of designing gardens that meet everyone’s needs and require creative problem solving.
Our process…
During this consultation generally both of us are in attendance. We would meet on site to better understand your space, get to know you and learn about your lifestyle. The consultation is an hour long. While there we take photos and discuss your needs and dreams for the space. We then follow up with a conference call in which we send over some very general ideas and an outline based on our meeting.
The fee for our garden design consultation is $400 within a 10 mile radius. The fee may be subject to more depending on the distance of the location from our home base in Los Angeles.
If after our call it seems we are good fit, we would then take the following next steps:
Return to the site with our contractor to assess in person and measure.
Reconnect to share a more accurate estimate and a design drawing that takes into consideration the measurements and your feedback from our follow up conversation.
Once we have agreed upon a design, we send over a more specific plant palette and schedule for installation.
Every project is unique. Cost and timeframe differs from client to client depending on the site and scope of work. There is no one size fits all in garden design and we tailor each job accordingly.
After every garden is installed we return a few months after to see how things are progressing and offer maintenance services as needed.
GARDEN DESIGN CONSULTATION
Planning to DIY your garden but want experienced guidance?
Gardens are personal and sometimes you just need some support…
We understand that working with a designer isn’t always financially feasible for everyone. For many, gardening is also a personal passion and some simply love doing the work themselves.
In fact, some of our most treasured garden visits have been to homes where the landscape is treated as a living laboratory for learning, experimenting, and growing.
Over our 12+ years of designing landscapes, we’ve met more and more people looking for professional feedback to support them on their gardening journey.
As a result, we’re now offering DIY Garden Coaching Consultations — tailored guidance to help you move forward with clarity and confidence.
DIY GARDEN DESIGN COACHING CONSULTATION
This session is designed to answer your questions about your existing garden and help you figure out the best way to approach it. It’s ideal for anyone who wants to DIY their garden.
Please note, this is not a full design consultation. Instead, it focuses on on-the-spot problem-solving and practical tips to help you tackle your yard with confidence. After our meeting, we’ll send you a follow-up outline based on our discussion, including plant suggestions and helpful resources to get you started.
Our Garden Design Coaching Sessions are perfect for anyone who enjoys doing the work themselves or has specific areas where they need guidance.
In-person sessions: $350 for one hour
Zoom sessions: $250 for one hour
Does your garden need a glow-up?
GARDEN REVIVAL CONSULTATION
A beautiful garden can dramatically influence how a home feels , and how well it sells.
Sometimes it doesn’t require a full redesign. With the right clean-up, strategic planting, and thoughtful styling, an existing garden can be transformed into a powerful first impression.
Our Garden Revival Consultation is designed for homeowners who love their garden’s foundation but want to elevate it, or for those preparing to bring their property to market and maximise curb appeal.
For $350, you’ll receive a comprehensive site visit where we identify key opportunities for impact, followed by a detailed email outlining the recommended scope of work and a ballpark investment estimate.
It’s a clear, strategic plan to refresh your garden with purpose, whether you’re staying or selling.
